STEDEC is a government owned company working under the administrative control of Ministry of Science and Technology. Registered in 1987 as a (Private) Limited Company under the Companies Ordinance 1984, its mandated activities include:
To function as a National Technology Commercialization Organization
To assist public sector R&D organizations towards commercialization of their indigenously researched products, processes and technologies
To assist public sector R&D organizations in developing market-driven research programs
To assist public sector R&D organizations for a greater commercialization efforts through market studies, investment in pilot plants, management of pilot plants, and marketing of such products
To assist the Ministry of Science and Technology in the management of projects related to indigenously researched products, processes and technologies
To adapt and adopt foreign technologies for enhancing industrial development
To reduce dependence on foreign technologies and enhance import substitution
To establish and manage a technology resource database, for effective transfer of technologies, especially oriented towards the small and medium enterprise sector
PRODUCTS & SERVICES:
Sales and marketing of various agro-chemical, pesticides, insecticides, termiticides, weedicides, fungicides, micronutrients, foliar sprays and plant hormones etc. at economical rates
Marketing, sales and information dissemination of public sector R&D products and services
Promotion of agriculture sector exports through provision of technical services & products for pest control & productivity enchantment
Managing training to farmers in coordination with dealers to disseminate information regarding proper/safe use of pesticides to increase yield at economical costs
Provision of quality services to household sector in pest eradication, termite proofing and fumigation etc.
COMMERCIALIZATION FOCUS AND ACTIVITIES:
Facilitation of technology commercialization activities through coordinating interactions between R&D organizations, academia, industry and entrepreneurs
Promotion of indigenously researched products and services of R&D Organization through exhibitions and seminars
Coordination between academia, R&D organizations, and industry to identify market-driven and need-based research initiatives
Exploring potential opportunities for alliances with and between public and private sectors for promotion of indigenous technologies and industrial development
